Sura River

Sura is the second largest tributary of the Volga River and is famous for its superb fishing. Here are found wild carp, silver carp, sichel, bighead carp, volga zander or rudd, and if you're lucky, your trophy may be a sterlet or sturgeon. Also good for fishing, located near the River, small lakes and oxbow lakes. On one of the picturesque banks of this meandering, fast flowing river, is the village District, where not only can you buy everything you need, but also to repair fishing equipment.
Sura River unlocks at level 24.

Watched LadyofGames stream and when people asked her what lvl it will unlock she couldn't reveal lvl but said that we will be happily surprised at what level it will unlock. Well I am suprised. Happily? Not really. Catching nothing in Kuori and with tenches being disabled in Old Burg it will take me 2 more years to unlock this. And I am lvl 22.

I said that because viewers saw my level on the test server (49) and thought Sura would unlock around that level.
As for how to level up, I suggest you visit Volkhov instead. The fish pay very good there and grant you a lot of xp. And the tenches aren't disabled on Old Burg. I did a tournament yesterday with my viewers and we were slamming them left and right. You might want to try different baits though. Cheese isn't the holy grail. ;)

Lvl 24 is very reasonable. Don't forget, potentially 100kg Sturgeon. You don't want to fight that on lvl 12 gear :D

You can try Bear for example on carps, very good xp farming spot on 46:60.

It is a good tip. To expand a bit, a combination of ground bait tailored for tench and a matching hook bait works really well.

Can we get a list of fish that are just in the lake plz? I can’t imagine Sturgeon are in there, unsure what else may not be in the lake section

Hey OMGitsStevio.

Look on the leaders boards to get an idea of the fish in that lake. As for the pond, you have to discover that yourself.

It would be nice to know what is in the standalone lake rather than “find out yourself” a lot of us are just here for the lake. If big heads arnt in the lake for example, we are wasting our time trying

In RF4 we don't like to keep the players by the hand, instead we give them the opportunity to discover things on their own and learn themselves. That's why we don't disclose info like which fish you can catch where exactly. You can ask players in game who you notice are catching bigheads where they caught it. And you can try and discover it yourself. If you're interested about a particular species but don't know a lot about it, then try googleling the fish. We mimic the fish after real life.

After an intense 2.5 in game day battle, this elusive beast that has evaded me a couple times now, was tamed by a Syberia Gold 80s and the Syberia Model One S98H spinning rod. Just as the second in game day came to pass I was going to call it quits, because i didn't think the reel had enough muscle to get him in, but in the end it came through. He was insanely strong and fast,  he made 16kg Atlantic Salmons seem like a walk in the park.

I got him close to the boat once and he took off down the river for his last run, I couldn't believe how big he was. The beast was almost as long as the boat, I cant imagine what a 100+kg cat would look like. Experiences like this is what makes RF4 so damn good!

hehe nice fish.  I caught 2,  one around 44kg and one 48kg on the same reel but i was using at the time a cheap 15kg rod and 13kg line.  Took me 3-4 game days to get them in lol.  I don't like cats now and personally try to avoid them but I understand why others love them.  I remember at the time when I was new to the big river as i call it,  it was exciting as hell to catch those and the first 44kg one i saw along side my boat after days of fighting was absolutely crazy looking and so I can imagine how you felt man.   Yea can only imagine a 100kg one lol    Anyways well done! \o

It was really awesome seeing him surface the first time, he turned around are ran and I got a good look at him, cant say i will forget that anytime soon. When he bit the lure my rod dunked in the water off the rod holder, like i never seen before haha. The current in the water at Sura made it a real pain, its why i thought it may not be possible with the Gold 80s, and my reel was a bit damaged before i got him. I lost a couple big ones at Volkhov due to unfortunate events, but they didn't seem to fight as hard. I enjoyed the fight a lot, just wish he was worth a bit more silver. What he was worth just covered the repair costs, so i can see why people stay away from them. I can say i look forward to the next one, if the day should come, I had a blast.

Got my first sturgeon and my first sterlet: trolling with sd10-006 in the area north of the 7m pit.

You can drop your anchor at 65-15, for zander, burbots, sometimes asp.... also catfish. Trolling from 50-15 to 70-15 works usually well, but almost all the zone across the river from the back of the 7m pit to the 7.5m pit is ok. Some days are worst, some are better, but in average, it's a very good zone to explore. Sd10 serie are very good here (also for mussel ^^ ).

Only a tiny wild carp but I just got it on provoker with a 4/0 jighead.    Never expected a carp on a provoker or anything like that haha!  .  I'm heading off over to bear lake now to throw out some shads for leather carp.   Only kidding.
