  1. I seriously am amazed at the work that gone into this game. Now, naturally I expect your team has a multitude of awesome ideas, and this one might have been in there already. However, it was just a thought.. While I don't think you will want to put a stalking bullshark in the water looking for fish or bumping into the boats ( well, you might ) I was thinking of a less lethal idea of perhaps a "wandering cat" in the settlements players could "feed" a fish to each day ( One thing I learned is Players love "pets" , even if it's just some wild thing they can set out food for ) or perhaps a random small creature : beaver, otter, fox .. that the player might g;impse sight of ... Just a thought - mainly because in Winding Rivulet as I exit Damned Valley a branch always pops into my view and scares me because I automatically thing it's a lizard or something .. I know it's there but it still catches me Anyway, thank you for the amazing game and work involved.
  2. Recently , and on stream , I have had several occasions where a fish has either tanked my gerar or tried to. Now, I can not speak of the fish that got me off guard, but for a fish to tank a 14KG set up, it has to be at least a 4.6KG : *It was all New Gear, fresh from the store * ( a fish, without anything to hold onto ( as catfish or flounders can being as they can dig in ) is good for "maybe" 3X their weight in muscle strength ). I will amit I have caught such a large fish at the location it occurred so I am not mad. However, I have had fish ( not catfish, nor Burbot ) 700g to 800g try to tank 6KG and 14KG setups like it was legal. (red lining my line's test ) * I did look up stuff to be sure , but honestly, there is more studies done on fish finders then on fish. The muscle strength of fish, not conducive to digging in or hiding in holes, leaves the fish out in the open with only gravity and water resistance between you and it is figured at approx. 3X it's mass. Fish that are known for digging in or hiding in holes can go up to 5X. If you are on the shore - as most of us are - it is easier to pull as opposed to being in a boat. So if there is one variable to consider here it is "How thick is this water ? " However, the strength of the fish in open water is only around 3X it's muscle mass when it's under assault by an angler. I think this latest update to the fish is not bad, just a little over powered . I will note that I have had heavier fish that barely put up a struggle at all , it';s just to have these less than 1KG lake monsters trying to tank your gear set up that is well over their ability to fight so hard is really ... not what I came to expect from this adventure. -------------------------------------------------- I have, on a video I did a "lake monster" of 800G try to tank the Old Spinning Rod : it looked like i was doomed, but I remained calm and caught up to it.. reeled it iin. BUT, that was expected - 800G X3 = that fish could actually tank that old Spinner rod .
  3. Well, Thank You, everyone for just telling the World about the Last Dinosaur's Location . Now I am going to have NatGeo showing up with a camera crew and some hard up former celebrities hoping for a paycheck.. My screen resolution is the screen, yes it's old and has survived several earthquakes including two 7.0 + But the game is playable "out of the box", I am not unhappy with the game, I am just disappointed it changed on me with the update.
  4. Sounds like a "Ghost Snag". My opinion on these events is ( just my opinion ) that the marvelous work of the Devs created a drag on the bottom to act as Mud or silt would in real fishing. If you are unable to recover your gear without risk of loosing said gear - put the rod down. I did notice ( before several updates, have not had one since ) that such snags sometime release after a few minutes. Failing that, you can log out/ in if on a paid travel map or , if a free map , just switch maps to recover your gear ( it will follow you ). This is an awesome feature that keeps players fishing. Remain calm ... You got this.
  5. And while I am here ..this text I can't even read with bifocals on when I went to buy line. And, while we are there - that (?) pop up box, should have stopped poping up after level 10. And the focus on fish : way out _ I love showing the stream your awesome models , but , seriously, that close .. it doesn't even fit anymore.
  6. Pretty much the title says it all , but You Know me - If I am in the Forums - sumthing is busted and I care enough to speak up. Besides the fish that your forum graciously let me upload, I was going to do one of the options where the apply and ok are halfway to Southern Narnia. But you get the idea from the fish name being in Northern Narnia. As for stacking inventory items - thanks!! Cafe view being - in my view - a straight up and down scrollable list as opposed to the nice Menu you had before .... It would take getting used to with the scrolling to the pinapple under the sea ... Thank You for your Awesome and Hard Work to bring the world such a magnificient game.
  7. UPDATE : With no changes to my game settings since this post, I have been able to enter Kouri - I did notice some fish missing and was able to move easily. However as I explored this beautiful map I neared fish in the water on the other side of the foot bridge I was lagged, but was still able to walk around. Still, a great piece of work, happy I was able to finally explore it
  8. With all the scripts running in that lake I can barely move, but it was free. You have so many things going on in that map that are , I think, ' might be ' unecessary to the actual game play and character exploration of the activity map. My first encounter With Kouri was before the Update - game crashed twice just going into the map. However I was able to move ( slowly ) and purchase items from the dairy store, filll a cafe order and sell to the market. However, the threat of the game crashing on me as I wanted to move around more forced me to leave the map. " It's beautiful , I saw that before the game crashed." is a comment I heard from several players. It could be "us " with bad internet, old computers and bad coffee - but I am pretty sure it's you.
  9. Thank you , but I just NOW figured out that I can Shift & Select : it will only take the ones it wants. I do apologize for not being computer savvy.
  10. I find it interesting that with such obviously Brilliant minds behind this game the Cafe does not simply accept the X out of the amount that the player has in their inventory ( ie: if player has 14 of desired fish and Cafe requests 5 : Cafe should accept the 5 , leaving the rest : not require the player to go dump extra fish just to make that single sale ) . I find the game fun and relaxing - but dumping perfectly good fish so I can make a sale - Fish that I * might be able to cook or use after the sale ... that is not relaxing nor fun. * If There is comes an option for the player to ever sit down on a log and enjoy some river mussels they boiled over the campfire ... would be nice if they were not forced to sell the extra items just to meet an order and deprive them of that cooking skill / comfort and relaxing moment .
  11. I would go for more background imagery as opposed to actual game play mechanics with this idea : to actually have the model spawn and attack insects that don't exist (yet ) is kind of asking alot of the server load ( which translates to cost of operation ). However , to have a texture rotate when the player is near .. would not be such a high costing item.
