Volkhov River

Volkhov River is acknowledged as one of the best fishing areas in the north-west of the European part of Russia. A wide range of various fish lives in its waters, from which especially notable are vimba, salmon, zander and catfish. Catfish of huge size can be found here: according to local anglers' evidence, here it is not uncommon to see real giants of the size of a boat. On the banks of this wide, deep river there are cozy fishing bases with excellent shops and a boat rental.

To access this water body you need to be level 20.

Hey guys, is there a good spot to fish some "IDE" ? And where to cast ? (distance, direction) I only catch them by fishing breams even i'm using ide mix.

I've caught Trophy ide at the bream spot on Volkhov and at Kuori Lake near the campsite. At Kuori Lake I caught it using spoons, and at Volkhov on pea porridge. A quick google show that maggots and caster are very popular baits for ide along with a ground bait rich in maggots and casters to get them competing. Might be worth a shot. I haven't specifically targeted ide thought so take with a grain of salt. Float techniques seem to be the most common.

Dumb question probably , but couldn't find it in the thread somewhere. When I go with a boat to a spot and fish there with feeders from shore , what happens when my boat ticket expires ?
Am I automatically teleported back to town, or can I still stay there and keep fishing ?

@MarshallMaz You can stay there on the shore and fish, but if the ticket expires you have to find another way back to town. If you are on the boat when it expires you will be teleported. Additionally, please be aware that there is a ferry that takes you to one of the islands, and there is a bridge to another island from there. It might save you some boat rental fees.

guys can someone tell me with which leader and lure I can catch a trophy 7kg asp? I'm trolling trying to find him but I still cannnot get him

@greatfishing59 Check the weekly leader boards for Asp to see what baits they are biting. Also, using a leader that is less likely to spook fish will help, such as a flourocarbon leader. Ensuring the skill which affects the lure/bait you are using has points invested in it can help as well. In the end though, even if you are doing everything exactly right for what the fish want at that time you are not guaranteed to catch a trophy.

A comp from yesterday the streamer was trolling the 6.5m area and was getting constant asp. That’s prolly best spot I think to try.

Try 40.70. 60.70  area as well

Thanks a lot Levo I discovered that trolling on deep spots like 40.70 I'm getting less line torn off than when I troll on shallow waters

I had a niiiice fishing session there on ML equipment. Pea poridge, red worms, peral barley and maggots on #12 hooks. Green and brown mono lines. Stay under 8kg tackles. I cought a lot of them for 3 iG days in a row. So much fun! :)

I love match fishing there and my two Fortuna Feeder rods worked so good.

Have fun.

Thanks Junky..my roach spot died out but was able to level my feeder fishing skill here and catch some good fish this evening :D

Yeah they have gone away from 71100 ... but they are prob nerfed all over in size at volk (prob the entire game)... so i dont see the point in breaming anymore.. :(

The Russians share so much with each other on their fourm. This is the exact reason they do well in comps against us because of this silly concept of if I share they will nerf it. Not gonna happen since Russians been doing it forever.

well at the end of the day its a free to play game, its supposed to be a grind.   If everyone had the best gear in the first week there would be no point in playing imo.

On the subject of sharing info, I don't see any harm in it and i share when i find it worth sharing.  What i will say is 7 fish in 1 game day is not fun at all unless they are 7 big fish.

Game's dead because you can't catch bream!? Go fish another species or change to a different type of fishing. There's plenty of fish out there....

Stealing from the Russian forum, there hot spot appears to be 126:91 and the G6 area right now.

Personally I have been having luck switching it up, going more larvae and redworm over pp and going for the bream sub-species.  Get a few blue bream in your net and you can make bank in a hurry.
