First Official EN Region Team Tournament

Recommended Posts

Do you want to win great prizes? Do you want to show the RF4 Community that you and your team are the best in the game? Do you just want to see how you stack up against other players? Then join the first ever Official EN Region Tournament Series! Carefully read the rules below, and then register your team! If you don't have a team, find one on our discord. We have a team recruitment channel there where you can look for teams to join!

This competition is our first event of this magnitude and as such will be a learning experience for all of us. We are not doing a qualifying round or seeding as the goal of this tournament is to judge interest in this type of event and work out any wrinkles so that future events of this type run even more smoothly. So get your team, sign up, and have fun!

The plan is for a 16 team tournament. If we do not get enough interest for a 16 team tournament we will run an 8 team tournament. If we have less than 8 teams signup, we will not hold a tournament.

We will hold Q and A streams for the tournament on Monday 6/24, Wednesday 6/26, and Friday 6/29 from 6:30 PM EST to 8:00 Pm EST at https://www.twitch.tv/elwoodiath. Please come and ask any questions you have.

  7. Match times may be restricted to certain times of the day should the moderator team choose to do so.
  8. Should a Team Captain not respond to requests to arrange a match time, the other team captain will contact the tournament moderators. If it is shown that the other team will not arrange a time, the match will be forfeit and the team that made the effort will advance to the next round.

  1. We will announce the match format at the beginning of each week so that teams have time to prepare.
  2. It will be 5 vs 5. Also we will increase team size to 7 to allow for two backups in case of emergencies. I am updating the rules now.

The referee creates a room 7 to 7, gives the password to two captains and the judge, as I understand it. Team captains do not participate in the tournament, just in the room? Can the captain and 4 players participate in the tournament?

Yes. So the teams are 5 to 7 members total. The team captain is part of that count. This is to give each team up to two backups. Any registered member can compete in any match. The Team Captains are responsible for all communications for their team with other teams and the tournament staff. Matches will be 5 vs 5.

So a total of 7 members including the Team captain:

Team Captain: Captain Hook

Member 1: Peter Pan

Member 2: Crocodile

Member 3: Wendy

Member 4: Mr. Smee

Member 5: Tinkerbell

Member 6: Tiger Lilly

7 members total, all are eligible to compete. Only 5 per match though. The two extra players are for backups.

Hi there!

About the tournament, this is a great idea! I applause this!

Just in case there would not be much participants, don't forget that it's summer and that maybe a certain number of players would not be able to participate because of holidays! Like me for example (on holidays for 3 weeks, far from any computer :p)

So if there's not much success during summer, don't forget the idea for later!

Best regards,

Goregrinder ;)

@GoregrinderHopefully this is the first of many. It does look like we will be able to field an 8 team tournament. There are at least 3 more teams in the making - and even if none register, us S.M.E.L.T (Support and Moderation English Language Team) will field a team to fill it out. I'm sure many of the teams already registered would love a shot at the mod team. :) We definitely want to run several of these and see what the players like and don't like so that we can provide that information back to the development team as they work on the previously announced in game tournament system.
