Whitespotted Char

Salvelinus leucomaenis lives in the Bering, Okhotsk and Japan seas, is found in the north-west of the Pacific Ocean, in the Amur River and the rivers of Kamchatka. The whitespotted char has a powerful, muscular body and a massive head. Its color is usually pale yellow with large light spots. During the spawning period its scales darken, acquiring a dark gray or chocolate color and light spots on the sides become less noticeable. When fishing for whitespotted char, it is effective to use artificial or live bait.
