Excessive wear on line w/out any reason

Hi! I bought the Taiga C30 and the MH Barracuda and  I get a lot of wear on my line by just catching fishes or sometimes by just reeling in.

       I got 10% wear on my line really fast, the biggest fish I caught using the setup was a 40kg catfish..  I discussed this with other people and none of them seem to know why I get so much damage, but they also said that it isn't normal at all. I bought another line then I got 0.2% wear in like 20 casts even tho I had no fish. I'd really appreciate some help right now since this setup wasn't cheap at all.

Fishing after catfish can be expensive, and that wear damage is normal when you target such a heavy weight fish. I had 0.5% wear damage on my line after catching around 30 and that's because they are heavy, and when you increase the tension alongside with the friction it will damage the line. If you also lock the reel on the fish, that will also increase the damage on the line, and the reel.

Indeed it can be expensive, but I get 0.1% around every 10 casts, and once I get to like 10% I already have to throw it out, boom 300 silver gone. Also, getting 2kg ones without locking still damages it by 0.1%
