Russian Fishing 4 Technical Issue Resolution

 

Scope:

Russian Fishing 4 is currently in open beta. This means the game is not considered complete at this time and not all features, optimizations, and bug fixes are resolved or implemented.

 

When contacting support for assistance please be sure to review the minimum system requirements below, unsupported graphics adapters, and starting instructions. If your system is below the specification, or you are using one of the unsupported graphics adapters the support we will be able to offer will be limited.

 

Also, please note we cannot perform the following actions:

  • Restore discarded items.
  • Give out free items.
  • Provide refunds for items purchased in game.
  • Provide detailed instructions on how to catch fish.

 

Minimum System Specifications:

  • CPU/Processor: Intel i3 2.5Ghz
  • Graphics Adapter/Card: Nvidia GTX 500 series
  • RAM/Memory: 4Gb
  • Free HDD Space / Storage: 20Gb
  • Operating System: 64bit Windows 7 or Better
  • Stable internet connection

 

 

Unsupported Graphics Adapters:

  • AMD Radeon R5 Series
  • AMD Radeon 8000 Series
  • AMD Radeon 7000 Series
  • AMD Radeon 6000 Series
  • AMD Radeon 5000 Series

 

 

Starting/General Instructions:

  1. Ensure during installation and updating that anti-virus, anti-malware, and anti-cheat software is turned off.
  2. Ensure that Malware Bytes is not running. This piece of software is known to cause many conflicts with Russian Fishing 4.
  3. Ensure FACEIT software for CS:GO is not running. It is also known to conflict with Russian Fishing 4.
  4. Ensure all drivers are up to date. Do not just focus on graphics drivers, ensure mainboard and any other devices installed have the latest drivers.
  5. Ensure there are exceptions for Russian Fishing 4 in your Windows Firewall.
  6. Restart the game. Many problems are resolved by simply re-launching the game.

 

Problems with Game Installation, Updates, or Instability after a patch:

Steam Instructions:

Spoiler

First try the below:

  1. Right click on Russian Fishing 4 in your Steam library.
  2. Click on properties.
  3. Click on the local files tab.
  4. Click on verify integrity of game files.

 

If the above did not resolve the problem:

  1. Right Click on Russian Fishing 4 in your Steam library.
  2. Click on properties.
  3. Click on the Local Files tab.
  4. Select uninstall game.
  5. After the game is uninstalled, exit Steam.
  6. Open up your preferred file browser and navigate to your Steam game repository. Typically this is: C:\Program Files\Steam (x86)\SteamApps\Common
  7. Delete the Russian Fishing 4 directory
  8. Navigate to C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Roaming\RussianFishingLLC.
  9. Delete the RussianFishingLLC folder.
  10. Navigate to  C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\LocalLow\RussianFishingLLC
  11. Delete any folder with RussianFishing in the name.
  12. Restart Steam.
  13. Reinstall Russian Fishing 4.

 

If the steps above did not resolve the problem, and you meet the minimum system specification, please contact support using the information at the bottom of this post.

RF4 Launcher Instructions:

Try the below first:

  1. Exit the game or launcher.
  2. Right click on the launcher icon and select properties.
  3. Click on the compatibility tab.
  4. Select run as administrator.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Navigate to the Russian Fishing 4 installation directory. Typically this is C:\Games\RussianFishing4.
  7. Right click on rf4_64.exe and select properties.
  8. Click on the compatibility tab
  9. Select run as administrator.
  10. Click ok.

 

If the above did not work, try the following:

  1. Exit the game or launcher.
  2. Uninstall the game.
  3. Navigate to the Russian Fishing 4 installation directory. Typically this is C:\Games\RussianFishing4.
  4. Delete the RussianFishing4 directory.
  5. Navigate to C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Roaming\RussianFishingLLC.
  6. Delete the RussianFishingLLC folder.
  7. Navigate to C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\LocalLow.
  8. Delete the RussianFishingLLC folder.
  9. Using the latest installer downloaded from https://rf4game.com/download/ reinstall the game.
  10. Follow the steps under ‘Try the below first’
  11. Play the game!

Character Moves Continuously:

  1. Close the game.
  2. Check to see if you have any other HID (Human Input Devices) attached to your PC other than a keyboard and mouse. Examples include but are not limited to game controllers, drawing tablets, and/or auxiliary keypads.
  3. If you do, unplug them.
  4. Restart the game.
  5. If the problem is still there - exit the game and ensure you have USB 3.0 devices plugged into USB 3.0 ports.
  6. Restart the game.
  7. If the problem continues, exit the game and install the latest mainboard drivers to ensure your USB drivers are up to date.
  8. Restart the game.

 

If the steps above did not resolve the problem, and you meet the minimum system specification, please contact support using the information at the bottom of this post.

 

Cannot save settings, stuck even after restarting the game, or long store load times:

Spoiler
  1. Navigate to C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Roaming.
  2. Navigate to C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\LocalLow.
  3. Delete any folder with Russian Fishing 4 in the name.
  4. Restart Russian Fishing 4.

 

If the steps above did not resolve the problem, and you meet the minimum system specification, please contact support using the information at the bottom of this post.

 

Graphical Glitches in the Game or Crashes related to D3D11.DLL:

  1. Ensure your video card/graphics adapter meets the minimum specification. If it does not and the below does not resolve your problem, your card may not be able to handle Russian Fishing 4 in a stable manner.
  2. Uninstall your graphics driver.
  3. Reinstall your graphics driver.
  4. If the above does not work:
  5. Get a third party driver uninstall utility. There are several free ones available that specialize in removing graphics drivers.
  6. Use the tool to uninstall the driver.
  7. Reinstall the driver with the latest version from your manufacturer.

Audio does not play:

  1. Quit Russian Fishing 4.
  2. Ensure the audio device you want Russian Fishing 4 to come through is the default audio device.
  3. Ensure the audio device is selected as the current output device.
  4. Restart Russian Fishing 4.
  5. Go to settings in Russian Fishing 4. Ensure the volume sliders are at the level you want them at.

 

If the steps above did not resolve the problem, and you meet the minimum system specification, please contact support using the information at the bottom of this post.

 

Fish do not register, disconnects, long load times, or other network instability:

  1. Ensure your system meets the minimum specifications. Latency due to CPU or Graphics bottlenecks can cause these issues. If your system does not meet the minimum specifications you can continue with the below steps, but support will be limited.
  2. Stop the game.
  3. Ensure you have completed the list in Starting/General instructions.
  4. Restart your router.
  5. Restart your PC
  6. Restart the game again. If the problems persist follow the remaining steps.
  7. Run the following command in a command prompt: pathping 78.155.213.135&&pause.
  8. Take a screenshot, or copy and paste the results into a text file.
  9. Follow the instructions in ‘Contacting Support’ and include the screenshots or text file.

Change Client from Steam to Russian Fishing 4 Standard Client:

Please note the following:

  • This is a one way ticket. We cannot switch you back after doing this.
  • Your gold and premium will transfer with you, but future purchases will need to be through the Russian Fishing 4 website.
  • The entire process can take up to 72 hours even if nothing is wrong. It could take longer if there are discrepancies in step 1 and 2 below.
  • You will need to download the client from www.rf4game.com.

 

If you are ok with the above, please follow the steps below:

  1. Email support@rf4game.com with the following information: Steam In Game Name and email address to use.
  2. Message rf4_support in game (Level 28 Account) with the same information from Step 1.
  3. An admin will review the information and ensure it matches for security purposes.
  4. If everything checks out, the admin will perform the transfer. You will get disconnected if you are online when the process occurs.
  5. The admin will send an email to the address from step 1 and 2 with your new password.
  6. Start the game with the standard client and enjoy.

 

Transfer Regions:

  • You only get one transfer! Choose it wisely.
  • This process can take up to 72 hours

 

Steam Users:

  1. Send a message to rf4_support in game (Level 28 account) with your current region and the region you wish to transfer to.
  2. When complete you will get a message from rf4_support in game.

Standard RF4 Client Users:

  1. Send an email to support@rf4game.com with the following information: Your In Game Name, and region to transfer too.
  2. Be sure the email is sent from the address associated with the account.
  3. When complete you will get an email reply letting you know.

 

 

 

IP is blocked for x minutes:

  1. You are entering the incorrect password.
  2. Ensure your caps lock key is off.
  3. Wait the required time.
  4. Re-enter the password

You have been blocked from the game:

  1. You have done something so serious that we have blocked you from the game.
  2. You must contact admin@rf4game.com if you wish to be unblocked.
  3. Ensure your in game name is in the email.
  4. Note that it can take up to 72 hours for an initial response.

 

You are receiving an ORE error:

  1. These are typically caused by clicking too fast.
  2. Wait for the animations to finish before clicking.

  1. If you prefer you can use the forums here to post your request instead of sending a mail. We encourage this as it may help other players solve their problems.
  2. If you are a German Steam user, use support@rf4game.com.
  3. If you are a German user on the standard account use support@rf4game.de.
  4. If you are a Russian player use support@rf4game.ru.
  5. For all others use support@rf4game.com.
  6. In the email include: Your in game name, your FULL system specification, and a description of the problem and any step you can do to reproduce it.
  7. If it is a network issue include the output from the steps in ‘Fish do not register, disconnects, long load times, or other network instability’.
  8. Navigate to this folder (C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Roaming\RussianFishingLLC) or (C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\LocalLow\RussianFishingLLC) and attach the file output_log.txt.
  9. Note that it can take up to 72 hours for an initial response.
