Gold price

Just wanted to say that even with the current sale on gold its price is absurd. I used to think its just me cause I don't earn very much but I've noticed content creators complaining about the price of gold so I looked closer at the prices of items in the tackle store, such as the new anniversary reels. They are over 250 gold which is $500. that is an extreme amount of money to pay for one item. Even the War Thunder devs who have pretty aggressive monetization, only charge $70 for endgame items.

Now I'm sure whales will be whales and pay these prices but wouldn't you make more money if prices were more accessible? Also shouldn't gold prices be regional as well? Many countries earn significantly lower salaries than the US and yet we are required to pay US prices if we would like premium content. For example my countries minimum wage per houris just slightly over one dollar. For us unless you are part of the one percent RF4 gold prices are out of reach.

the idea is the game isnt a pay 2  win, the prices are set so if you want to be comfortable and pay a high price for it, you can do. its not meant to be that everyone can just buy items as the game would just die a death pretty quickly. if you do want to go down that route then wait for sales buy little at a time and save them to buy the gear you want. or switch to a region with a lower price like russia.
the sales arent as good as what they used to be ( times where it could be as high as 75% off ) same as the items that were put on sale weekly have died out which is sad to see. but the new owners/devs decide what they want to do with the game we just have to choose whether we support their decisions or not and continue to play or not.

Haha,  is it really 500 dolleros for the digital reel? You can get a Shimano Calcutta for that kind of money. 🤣

RF4 is free to set the price. You are free to accept it (or not). I am free to judge. Such is life.

$326.35 for 260 gold right now, so hes a little off.... just a little. but hes failing to take into account, apart from the one reel with slightly different stats all the reels are just reskins and available for silver. all he has to do is level and earn that silver to use those same items. if you want to advance a little faster you pay a high price for it. its the way the game is made to stop it being p2w

I'm not a little off on anything. The current sale doesn't change the fact the normal gold price is 2 dollars for one gold.

A high price also doesn't stop the game from being pay to win, it just means only rich people can be pay to win. Not that I would consider that pay to win anyway, expensive gear doesn't make you good at the game.

The point I'm trying to make is that in free to play games, people with free time and little money grind for what they want and people with money but little time buy what they want. In this game its not possible because of the extreme prices. It has an effect on the player base. I have friends who won't play the game cause they can't progress in a reasonable time frame and they can't bypass the grind because of the cost.

To me that seems like a flaw in the game which is why I posted it here. Out of all the fishing games this is my favorite. I have two accounts and roughly 1400 hours played. Not a huge amount but significant for me as I usually lose interest in games fairly quickly and move on. I only want this game to be the best it can be.

you cant bypass the grind whether you buy items or not, you still have to level the account, and still have to level your skills for each fishing discipline. too many people are in this solid focus of following this set progression, they follow the lemming train where they only fish spots that they see on discords & vk or getting hung up on silver. play the game to its fullest, try out new things, discover new spots for yourself it becomes alot more rewarding and stop being in such a rush. silver will come by itself.

Well you can cut that grind in half and then some by running a premium account (Over 100% gain? Did someone say "p2w"?). And making items more expensive doesn't make it less p2w. Maybe in opposite world. The pricing is so absurd that one have to wonder if it's not actually meant to be purchased, but if someone is dumb enough then so be it. To me RF4 can not be p2w anyway so I see no problems in that regard. I do fully agree with you on the rest. And the rest is more important.

People rush and get hung up on silver because they want to play the game to the fullest, but can't because they have to grind out silver for the setups they need. And if you want to try everything you're looking at thousands of hours of grinding unless you pay for premium and gear sets. For those of us with the time to do so its not a problem. But for those with other commitments such as family and work who only have a few hours a day to play, it is not possible.
