SJK
Hello everybody, Today we are heading to the the sea to find Spotted Wolffish for our card. I saw a guy get 3 wollffish trophies in this area and was intrigued as I've never fished at this spot, of course I've fished at the 80m but my curiosity led me here. Shads haven't been too good for me recently but if we can get the spotted wolffish i will be happy. We are fishing on the bottom and pirking in the bottom layer. When you arrive at the spot you'll instantly see the tracker absolutely swarming of fish on the bottom which is a great sign, and it didn't disappoint. A spot that doesn't have too many Halibuts and there is definitely wolffish here, we only had chance to fish for 1 hour, and if the last two fish didn't come out we would of only gotten about 400 silver, but this trip wasn't actually about silver, it was more about seeing if the wolffish was here, and they was. Overall a good 1 hour trip and 1.5k silver after cafe orders.
SJK
Hello everybody, Today we are heading to the the Tung to target Amur Catfish. Been trying to get this fish for a while and never seem to do that well could be to do with my rod and at some point need to look for a new spinning rod to maybe get some bonuses. As you're probably aware Amur bite during the night so we're going to do 3 night sessions and see how many we can catch. We are fishing on the blue circle on the map, stationary and casting along the blue line, a retrieval speed of 40 and aiming to achieve jig step. The first night session was brilliant, the 2nd went slightly down hill and the third was awful, we relogged after the night session but it didn't seem to make much difference. We caught 9 in the first night, 5 in the second night and only two in the 3rd night. Which instantly tells me you should probably do 1/2 hour and then change maps. Didn't manage to get the trophy but we'll keep trying! Edited Tuesday at 06:32 PM by SJK
SJK
Hi guys, Just a quick update, I'm going to be on the Norweigan Sea for most of this week. I'm trying desperately to get the challenge for the Flying Collar Rig and I feel it will take a long time. I'm going to be rotating between 31m and 41m but I'm going to share my trips here regardless to maybe help someone else who is struggling with this challenge. Tight lines! SJK
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ Hello everybody, Today we are heading to the the sea to complete the challenge "Catch a trophy plaice or turbot with the flying collar rig" We are actually going to be testing all the 140 worms colours, to firstly find which bait the plaice and turbot are biting on, and in this time we might also find other fish biting on specific colours and this might help you if you need this fish. We should get a pretty good idea within the first hour, so these trips will be only 1 hour long, and if you need the plaice or turbot and you see it's not biting with the colour I'm using, you can avoid or a fish might be biting on this colour and you need it for the card, either way I want to record my journey! The problem is, this rig isn't used very much by everybody, therefore there is rarely any of these records in the weeklys which makes it difficult to know which lure to use, but I'm going to literally test every color and find out which one we're using to get the challenge completed! Why are we trolling? Well you can troll or be stationary, but with the boat moving, the worm moves around more, meaning it's potential prey for the fish and I believe it has to be better than being stationary. We are also using a 2m length leader, because the sea is generally very windy so this should help and we are also trolling We are trolling up and down the 34m for this trip, and the next trip I'll be fishing up and down the 41m and rotating, along with the color of the worm. All we need is movement in the bottom layer, and just troll. So, this is interesting. We've used the green lure in todays trip and we've found Haddock biting, quite a lot actually and out of 30 fish, 20 of them are Haddock. We also got the trophy so that was really cool, but we already had that but this might help someone who needs to Haddock to actually target this fish. We made 506 silver which is quite impressive really, especially for this rig. But if you're looking for Plaice or Turbot, avoid!

Though it does die off after the hour, so I would recommend heading to the 41m and finding a lure colour that's working there also which is what I'll do in the next trip.
